Mrs. Katherine Oettinger of Washington, Va., is a member of the National Board of the Medical College of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, which held its 25th anniversary celebration in Washington, D. C., Nov. 8-9.
Marion Fay, Ph.D., president and dean emerita of the College, was honored at the first Marion Fay Seminar at the National Institutes of Health. A reception and dinner in the Diplomatic Reception Rooms of the State Department and a luncheon and further scientific speeches at the Cosmos Club were other highlights of the celebration.
The National Board of the Medical College of Pennsylvania is composed of 170 prominent women and men representing 37 states. Their main purpose is to encourage interest in the College and to generate financial and legislative support.
President of the Medical College of Pennsylvania is Robert E. Cooke, M.D. Miss Hazel Bishop, New York City, founder of the internationally known cosmetic firm which bears her name, is president of the National Board. Mrs. Dwight D. Eisenhower served as first honorary chairwoman and was later joined by Mrs. Lyndon B. Johnson.
