Lynn denies that the examination is too difficult far seventh grade students. “All the material on the exam has been covered thoroughly in the elementary grades”, he asserts. He adds that, in the interest of higher academic standards, he hopes that more schools will institute comprehensive examinations for elementary school students. “There should be a definite body of academic content which every elementary school child can point to and say, ‘This is what I have learned in school. Now I am ready for high school.’ ”
