Wakefield Country Day School’s new Elementary Leaving Certificate Examination. administered to all seventh graders at the end of their elementary course of study is designed to be "comprehensive and challenging”, according to William Lynn, the school administrator. The new examination, unique in attempting to define precisely the body of knowledge and skills which elementary school students should master, is divided into eleven parts: Reading Comprehension; English grammar and usage; Spelling; Composition; Mathematics; General Science; History; Geography; Logic; Elementary Latin; and French.
