On behalf of the Catholics of the Diocese, Bishop Thomas J. Welsh has recently welcomed into Rappahannock County a community of Franciscan friars who have established a Catholic house of prayer at Boston.
This Friary, where the Eucharistic liturgy is celebrated daily, is the first permanent presence of the Catholic Church in Rappahannock County.
Joined by a group of diocesan priests and other men and women who reside in the western portion of the diocese. Bishop Welsh dedicated the house as Portiuncula Friary. Father Ronald J.
