Recreation Center, on the bypass at Washington was put there by members of the Rappahannock Lions Club. Nels Parson, who conceived and executed the project, was assisted in the work by Sid Mank, Bob Moorefield, Al Doub and his son Landy, and Lion President Howdy Holschuh.
The sign was a cooperative venture, with the Farm Bureau providing the materials, and members of the Rappahannock Lions Club routing the letters, painting, assembling, and erecting the finished sign.
"This is another element of Lions’ Service to the community,” said Holschuh.
