The content of the Rappahannock Times is total student effort. “The work is all their work,” said Miss Monger. The kids decided on the basic format of the paper and compile all the material each week. Miss Monger does the typing and lay-out on Tuesday evenings and runs copies off on the School’s mimeograph machine. She said it takes her three to five hours of extra work but the effort has paid off in doubled enthusiasm from her students.
Papers are sold for 15 cents a piece before school and in the lunchroom on Wednesday under a big cardboard sign. After about a third of the proceeds are returned to the school in reimbursement for materials, the remaining two-thirds,are divided between the seventh
