He told the planners that a county could adopt land use for only horticultural land—a category that includes orchards. “That may give the farmer that additional tax break he needs to plant new trees,” he said.
“I don't think we have the type of soil or agricultural economy to support corn or wheat (production),” Miller responded. “We can raise enough hay to feed our livestock. Grazing, hay and orchards are about all this county is suited for agriculturally,” he maintained.
