In other action, the board voted unanimously to approve an agreement acknowledging the CETA after-school employment program contracted by the Opportunities Industrialization Commission.
OIC representative Arnie White explained that 10 jobs will be provided for economically disadvantaged Rappahannock teenagers, all in the public, non-profit employment sector.
He emphasized that the school board’s approval of the agreement in no way obligated the schools to provide job sites although he indicated he would be back later with an additional request along that line.
