Wakefield Film Senes - ’80 Wakefield School’s Film Series - '80 will begin Friday, September 26, with She Wore A Yellow Ribbon, starring John Wayne. This 1949 movie was directed by John Ford and won an award that year for cinematography. With the main feature will be Hardware Wars—a 1978 Academy Award-winning short subject. September’s films are the first in a series of nine to be screened at Wakefield School in Huntly on Route 522, two miles north of Flint Hill. Film nights will be the third Friday of each month at 8:00 p.m. General admission tickets
RAA Fun Day The Rappahannock Athletic Association has tentatively scheduled a family fun day at the elementary school on Saturday, September 27, to give moms and dads of youngsters who participated in the summer youth baseball program an opportunity to bat. According to RAA president Guy Foster, the season-ending get-together will pit parents, coaches and umpires against each other in a "for fun” baseball tournanient.
