Town Use Doubled
While the drought has undoubtably dropped water tables and dried up wells and springs in Rappahannock. Fisher stopped short of attributing the town's water shortage solely to Mother Nature. "The average demand has increased significantly—that's part of the reason why we've had problems with the well." he said.
According to Fisher, water consumption has averaged 90 to 100 gallons per day over the past three years. With 119 connections, that works out to approximately 10.000 gallons per day total.
