the ten minute time period before the board’s executive session alloted to questions and comments from the audience, industrial arts teacher Jim Dennis asked that four emergency safety switches to turn off electrical equipment be installed in the high school shop instead of the three planned by the board. The school he taught at last year, said Dennis, had five emergency switches for an area half the size of the RCHS shop while the college he attended had seven emergency controls for the same amount of space.
The design approved by the school board allows only a “minimum safety factor," Dennis said. “You’d be better off to go a little bit futher and spend the money for one more switch,” he said. “My worst concern in that shop is getting some kid mutilated in a machine . . . I’m scared. I
