Dear Washingtonian:
We are working very hard to correct the water problem in the town which we are now experiencing. Most of you know that the well we drilled last week does not yield enough water to solve the town’s water needs. A State Geogolist is trying to determine the best area for us to try to drill for another well.
Until the problem is solved we are hauling water by tractor trailer. This is very expensive but the only short term solution would be to do without water.
This extra expense has made it necessary for us to adopt an emergency water rate:
Up to 1,500 gal.month....$4.45.

A Plan
To the editor:
Although the writer has no known or suspected Iranian blood on which to blame a failure to keep the word given last week in this column of a possible solution to the question then posed, the regrettable fact is that getting together all the components of that heralded solution has taken longer than envisaged so that a rain (note the same letters as in Iran) check is asked.
Next week I hope to be able to present a plan for a community tree which will be what it should be.
