In order to head off possible difficulties in the future with state agencies and local animal lovers, the Rappahannock supervisors at Monday’s meeting considered a cooperative agreement with Warren County for euthanasia of stray dogs and incineration of the bodies.
Currently, strays are kept five days in pens provided by the warden, then shot and disposed of in the Covington River.
