Teacher-Trainee

Valerie L. Gehringer of Flint Hill, a senior at Longwood College in Farmville, is doing ten weeks of classroom teaching as the final phase of her teacher training. She will be instructing English classes in the Danville public school system.

As a teacher-trainee, Gehringer will be under the direction of a local teacher and a Longwood faculty member. In addition, supervisors from the college’s department of education make frequent visits to the areas of student teaching.
