According tQ Deacon who is a member of the Culpeper Memorial Hospital Board, he asked the Woods to consider leaving the bulk of their estate to the hospital for a FletcherWood Memorial wing. “They made most of their money in Culpeper, l thoudtft fe be nice ir 'they left it that way,” he said.
Deacon testified that he had discussed beneficiaries with the Woods approximately a year prior to their deaths. He said they told him that they’d left half their money to the heart fund and half to the cancer fund although both indicated they weren’t completely satisfied with the arrangements. Both were concerned, he said, that their bequests would be "squandered” at heart and cancer fund headquarters in New York. Under cross examination, Deacon said Mr. Wood had no close relatives and had told him that he didn’t want his relatives to have any of his estate.
