There was an interesting bill to raise credit card interest from 18 percent to 24 percent which we just learned was killed in Committee.
We have a bill in Agriculture that is called the right-to-farm bill. It plainly states that an established farming operation can not be subjected to nuisance ordinances from localities if a subdivision is built near the farm at a later period of time. I was asked to be a copatron of the bill.
To be voted on tomorrow, I hope, is a bill from last year to stop bureaucracy from making regulations that cost us money until they have been discussed by an appropriate legislative committee. This bill was vetoed last year by the Governor resulting from pressure by the bureaucrats. This bill is a must.
A bill to allow the Governor to appoint students to the Board of Visitors of all colleges except VMI was killed in Committee primarily because the Governor already puts a student on the Board after he has been out for at least one to three years.
