When asked who has had the most influence on her life and basketball career, Sandy replied, “When I first started out in basketball I was doing it for fun. As I became more involved, it became a big part of my life. My friends and my family supported me during the seasons, but one person helped me more than others. At times, it seemed he had more confidence in me than I did, and he gave me strength to push myself to play the best I could. He understood me and the goals I had set and they were all accomplished.
