the legislature will help to cut down on both the size and the cost of government in Virginia.
I am also pleased to see a bill introduced which creates the Telephone Privacy Act. This bill stipulates that telephone solicitation calls cannot be made before 9 a.m. or after 9 p.m.
There are several additional rules including one that would require the telephone solicitor to retain the names of persons who indicate that they do not wish to be contacted again. Also prohibitions woulfl be placed on calls which attempt to harass or intimidate citizens.
Telephone solicitation has become a popular selling technique and I believe it has become necessary to place certain restrictions on these calls. I plan to support the bill.
