Douglas G. Nichols and David N. Atkins, both of Flint Hill, will be honored for earning Boy Scouting’s highest accolade, the Eagle Award,- at a recognition dinner next week in Winchester.
Formtr Washington Redskin Bill Brundage will be the feature speaker at the ceremonies. The National Eagle Scout Association and the opportunities open to the new Eagle Scouts will also be highlighted.
Requirements for the Eagle Award include completion of 21 Merit Badges in different skill areas, a community service project, leadership in the Scout’s troop, community and church and the satisfactory completion of four Boards of Review.
For his community project, David Atkins organized a Bike-Rodeo at the elementary school and undertook the clean-up of the Baptist Church’s graveyard in Flint
