Newlin

Simon Columbus Newlin, 72, of Nain died Saturday, February 7, 1981 in Winchester Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday at the Jones Funeral Home, Winchester by the Rev. Hartley Wigfield. Burial was in Shenandoah Memorial Park.

Mr. Newlin was born November 19, 1908 at Elk Garden, Md., son of the late Henry and Anna Newlin. He was predeceased by his wife, Goldie McFarland Newlin. He was a retired National Fruit Company employee and was a member of the First Assembly of God Church, Winchester.

Surviving are two sons, Charles H. Newlin of Purcellville and Carlton S. Newlin of Nain; two daughters. Gladys Grimes of Amissville and Agnes DeHaven of Nain; a brother, Henry Newlin of Berryville; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
