Called as the final witness, B. W. Woodahl, former vicepresident of the Virginia unit of the American Cancer Society, reported that cancer fund drives in Rappahannock date as early as the 1930s. In addition, he said he knew of no other organizations which have collected money in the county for cancer research.

Attorneys for the Heart Association and the Cancer Society read into the court record answers to interrogatories in which the University of Virginia and the Medical College of Virginia both acknowledged the cancer fund as the American Cancer Society and the heart fund as the Heart Association.
