Mary Botts Quaintance of Sperryville testified that she knew both Virginia and Gene Wood in 1947 and 1948 when their wills were drawn. As a native of the county and a volunteer worker over the years with the local unit of the American Cancer Society, she told the court that organization is commonly referred to in relation to money raising activities and donations as the ‘‘cancer fund” by Rappahannock residents.
