Travel Increases
Passenger car travel was up 0.7 of 1 percent compared to December. 1979. Out-ofstate passenger car travel showed the largest increase. 3.7 percent, while Virginia passenger car travel increased 0.3 of I percent.
Commercial travel was down 2.8 percent from the preceding December.
The statistics were compiled from traffic counts taken at 202 locations on the state's interstate, primary, and arterial highways.
