Center Benefit
An afternoon and evening of fun, games and dancing to benefit the Washington Community Center will be held Saturday, September 19.
Ball games, horseshoes, sack races and card games will begin at 2 p.m. followed by a cake walk after dark and a dance from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Admission to the dance is $2. Refreshments will be on a sale throughout the afternoon and evening.
The activities are sponsored by Jimmy Alsberry with all proceeds going to the Community Center.
Revival
Revival services will be held at Promise Land Baptist Church near Washington beginning Wednesday September 23-25 each evening at 7:30. The Rev. Thomas Gibbs of Front Royal will be the guest speaker.
Sunday, September 27, is annual Homecoming Day and the Rev. Aubrey Jackson accompanied by his choirs and congregation from Little Forest Baptist Church in Stafford will be guests. The public is invited.
