While walking down the hall you see all the familiar faces, with the exception of the beasties, that you’ve seen for the past few years. You never realize how much talent you encounter when classes dismiss.
This week we would like to tell you about another student who spent summer pursuing what could be her life career. Marie Davis, a 15 year old sophomore, attended the Massanutten Music Camp for a week. Every year one or two gifted students from Rappahannock are sent to this camp in order to practice with different groups of singers from other counties.
According to Marie, the singers were divided into 3 choruses. Marie was in the all girls Shenandoah Chorus. After taking care of the morning duties, the girls had a 2-hour rehearsal followed by a music related class. Marie tried her hand at conducting.
At the end of the week the camp held a concert for the parents. In preparation for this concert the director chose a vocal soloist. Of the twelve people who tried for the position Marie was
