Bucs Dominate
The Amissville Buccaneers overwhelmed the Manassas Redskins last Saturday, downing the defending champions in the Greater Manassas Youth Football League 32-13.
Gary Jackson, halfback for the Bucs, gained 236 yards in 10 carries for an impressive average of 23 yards per carry. Jackson also scored three touchdowns. Fullback Bryant Yates was right behind his teammate with 97 yards in 13 carries including two touchdowns and two extra points. The Bucs racked up 358 yards in total offense compared to just 82 yards for the Redskins.
Derrick Strosnider led the defense with eight tackles. Also a defensive standout, Devin Moore, was credited with five tackles, four assists and one fumble recovery. Next Saturday, September 19, the Bucs will take on the Rebels, another Manassas team, at 1 p.m. at Stonewall Middle School field behind the K-Mart shopping center in Manassas.
