Gaa Accountability
As an alternative to his continuing to pump gas for school vehicles, Estabrook presented the school board detailed forms designed to provide accountability for gas consumption for review. Sheets for buses include information on gas consumption at each fill-up, name of person dispensing gas, oil used, odometer reading and remarks—if any—from the driver. Information required on trip sheets for automobiles covers (on a daily basis) destination and purpose of each trip, odometer reading, mileage and driver's signature.
Estabrook noted that he had not yet discussed the proposed record keeping system for the buses with transportation supervisor Allie Huff. “I wanted to get a response from the board first,” he said, adding that he checked with surrounding school divisions and adapted his proposal primarily from Madison’s system.
“Aside from keeping track of gas, any record keeping system (for buses) should be acceptable to Mr. Huff,” Newbill Miller maintained.
