Vi Vierling was just getting around to taking down the Christmas decorations at Aunt Jane’s last week. As owner, manager, sales person and sole employee of the little Flint Hill sewing and craft shop, she has been kept practically chained to the sewing machine by the demands of the new business.

Since opening last August, she’s had almost more than she can sew, tailoring men’s suits, altering ladies' dresses and coats, creating stylish fashions and mending the rips and tears that working mothers no longer have the opportunity to take care of themselves.

“1 do practically anything that involves clothing —men’s, women's or children’s,” said Vi, who started a sewing business as a Fit-in-as-you-can home occupation while she and her husband Bruce lived on
