Student fellowships in the amount of $2,000 are available to those in recognized undergraduate arts schools. Graduate fellowships carry a stipend of $4,000, and professional awards of $2,500 are available to artists to aid in continuing projects or to assist in the execution of a specific project which would benefit the state.
For the second year, four fellowships of $8,000 each "ill be awarded to professional artists to aid in their work or assist on a specific project which would benefit Virginians. These special fellowships are funded by grants from the**,’ Virginia Commission for the Art* and the National Endowment for the Arts.
Application forms and specific details on submitting portfolios are available from the Museum's Programs Division by mail, in person, or by telephoning 804-2570824 between 8:40 a m. and 5 p.m. on weekdays. Only applicants who have lived in the state for five of the past 10 years are eligible to compete.
