Talented young musicians are encouraged to take part in the Lions Club state-wide music competition beginning next month.
Rappahannock Lions President Ashton Baines announced that local high school vocalists and instrumentalists will be eligible to compete locally and advance up the ladder through zone and regional contests to the state competition in May, where a total of $7,400 in scholarships will be awarded to winners in both categories. First place winners will each receive $1,500; second place, $800; third place, $500, and so on.
