Laing
Douglas Garvey Laing, 73, of Bunree Farm, Amissville, died Feb. 21 at Fauquier Hospital after a long illness.
Mr. Laing was born Feb. 24, 1909, in Millbrook, N. Y., son of William A. and Eileen Garvey Laing.
He attended Pawling School, Pawling, N. Y.
He divided his time between a business career in Washington and his farm at Amissville.
When Mr. Laing retired after 35 years as executive vice-president of Security Storage Co. in Washington, he returned to Bunree FarmHe
was a member of the Metropolitan Club and the Rotary Club in Washington, and was a vestryman and senior warden of St. James Episcopal Church, Warren ton.
He is survived by two daughters, Aileen Highland Laing, Sweet Briar, and Susan Laing Platt, Green Spring Valley, Md., and a brother William A. Laing, New Baltimore.
He also leaves eight grandchildren and one greatgrandchild.
Funeral services will be conducted at noon Friday at St. James Episcopal Church, Warrenton.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that contributions be made to the Fauquier unit of the American Cancer Society or to the Amissville Volunteer Fire Department.
