“What I'm doing is unique," he explained. “Usually a broker on the East Coast with a fruit buyer will work through a broker on the West Coast with a fruit packer and split the commission. But you lose that personal touch, that extra bit of attention. I'm trying to live on the East Coast and deal with the West Coast packers myself."
