To compete for selection, Robinson said, all that is necessary is for those interested to send him a letter describing their personal backgrounds and how their selection might benefit them and other elderly citizens in their home area. The dealine for submitting applications is March 20th, and letters to Robinson should be addressed to him, c-o the U. S. House of Representatives, Washington, D. C. 20515.
Applicants should be in good health, Robinson stressed, because participants are kept to a busy schedule on Capitol Hill, and must walk considerable distances to attend some meetings.
The senior citizen selected to participate representing the Seventh Congressional District will receive a small stipend out of Robinson's clerk-hire allowance to cover living expenses in Washington. Most participants stay in the same downtown hotel near the White House during their internship service.
