She makes the rounds of area craft fairs, giving demonstrations in weaving and spinning and displaying her creations of wool, linen and cotton for sale. She i works only in natural fibers. ‘‘1 don’t- use acrylics or synthetics. I want to stay away from the sheen of polyester and I want to prove to people that they can use natural fibers in their home...Cotton and linen work so well. You can basically beat the stuff,'^ Jacobson maintained.
To prove this point, she has expanded her repertoire this year to include a household line: table mats and napkins, and custom made curtain and upholstery material.
She joined Rush River last May and now has woven mirror frames, tapestries, shawls, scarfs and a line of shirts, cotton for summer and wool for winter, on display at the Washington artists’ cooperative.
