Buying her wool locally, coloring it and the cottons and linens with natural dyes picked in the woods of Rappahannock puts a part of the county in every piece of material that Kim Jacobsen creates.

Waving her arm towards the Blue Ridge foothills outside her living room window, Kim explained that she steals many of the ideas for her tapestries and striations of color from those mountains. "It kind of makes a nice little circle,” she concluded.
