Despite the professional look of Port Authority's equipment—enough amplifiers for a Rolling Stones concert at the Cap Center, horns, syntheziers, drums and electric guitars—the - initial response from the student-packed bleachers could best be termed polite. You could almost see the kids thinking "Rock music from short-haired guys this old and wearing uniforms?”
But Port Authority’s version of “Girl, you've really got me going" convinced the kids that performers don't have to be under 30 to play their music. And the followup number, "Celebrate Good Times,” had the student body celebrating, clapping and swaying with a couple of extroverts even standing for a few quick steps, much to the delight of their peers.
