After graduation, Kim returned to the D.C. area and settled in Fairfax County, working full-time as manager of a bookstore while weaving and teaching the craft on the side. She was determined to move further out to the country and one Sunday, spotted an ad for the little house she rents near Castleton in the Sunday paper.
She fell in love with the county at the same time that she’d decided she had to choose between weaving and bookstores. Managing a business left her with neither time nor energy to pursue her craft as an after-hours hobby.
