Fdr the second consecutive day, a divided House of Delegates rejected an increase in statewide gasoline taxes and a formula that would have reallocated more highway construction money to high growth areas.
The House voted 52-47 to approve a bill sponsored by Del. Archibald A. Campbell, (D-Wythe) that would raise $45 million over the next biennium through increases in truck fees and other motor vehicle fees. The bill proposed no gasoline tax hike, however.
