Rappahannock’s basketball season fizzled to an end last Wednesday night in Front Royal as the Panthers lost to William Monroe. 41-39, in the second round of the Skyline District Tournament.
The varsity’s starting five seemed to have their offensive game in gear in the opening period, recapturing the lead after the Dragons jumped out to a 6-2 advantage with 4:08 on the clock. After a traveling call on William Monroe, Carl Frye connected on a short jumper and then on the next trip down court, pulled in an offensive rebound for a layup to tie the score at six all.
