hearing, the board voted unanimously to abandon a short section of old Route 729 at the intersection with Route 640 in the Forest Grove area. No one spoke for or against abandonment of the roadway which is no longer in use.
Noting that he will have no information unil mid-April on highway revenues which the county can expect in the coming fiscal year, highway department resident engineer Don Askew recommended that the annual road hearing normally held at the April board meeting be delayed. The supervisors agreed to schedule the public road hearing for May 3.
After a 45 minute executive session on matters related to welfare cases, the board returned to open session to approve monthly accounts. Related to accounts, they voted unanimously to authorize transfer of funds from the budget line item for legal council to the line item for the equalization board. Clerk Diane Bruce noted that the equalization board’s bill of $2,109 for work in February had exhausted funds allocated to that account and that the board has already advertised ten days of meetings for March.
