club’s annual barbecue in July and For a circus in September. Another fund raiser, a donkey basketball game, is also being considered.
The club voted to donate $100 to the T.C. Barron Memorial Fund and pledged an additional $400 to be contributed at a future date.
Other Ruritan committee projects — community clean-up, pothole repairs and dump beautification — are well underway. The club has also established a “clothing bank” to serve families who have lost their homes to fire and others in need. The Ruritans are also looking for a donation or information on how to obtain a hospitaltype bedside table for a local citizen. Anyone who can assist is asked to contact George Kidwell at 937-4429.
