Eugene Grigsby was the outstanding individual performer of the day with three first places: the long jump, 100 meters and 200 run.
Tim Williams threw for first in the shot and second in the discus and Doyle Dunn passed even Grigsby’s point total with his first in the high hurdles, first in the high jump and seconds in the triple and long jumps.
“Doyle, Eugene and Tim are progressing well and meeting their individual targets,” said coach Monty Saunders. “I hope they can stay healthy.” He noted that Dunn tied the high jump mark of 17.5 feet set by Paul Keithlev in 1980. “I’m anxious for some good weather. We’re looking forward to setting some new school records.”
