Rappahannock’s track teams brought back a bus full of medals from the Stonewall Jackson Relays held at Broad Run last Saturday.

Facing tough competition from individuals representing 13 schools, the “fast four” put things together in the 400, 800 and 800 medley relays to win three medals apiece. Kathervn Davis, Cristol Porter, Raynetta Gheen and Kim Williams took first in the 800 medley, second in the 800 and third in the 400. Winning teams in the relays were presented a trophy with medals going to individuals in the first four places so the performance by the four amounted to almost a knee-high stack of awards.Cindy Williams took second in the discus, throwing 107 feet. Her final throw at 120 feet was long enough to break the meet record but she stepped just outside the throwing circle for a scratch. Marie Davis placed fifth in the event, just missing a medal.

Shannon Watton did not place but the track newcomer earned the personal satisfaction of meeting her
