Hopefully May 12 will be third time hicky for the Blue Ridge Hunt point-to-point meet as poor weather has once again forced the hunt to reschedule its races for later in the season.
Snow caused the first cancellation of the Blue Ridge races which had originally been scheduled for Saturday, March 10. Paradoxically the week before Rappahannock had had a dry and very successful meet and the week after Warrenton had a successful and dry week.
With a week to go before their rescheduled date of Sunday, April 29, the officials at Blue Ridge once again had to cancel their meet, this time because part of the course was flooded.
“It is underwater up here, just awful,” said Mrs. Judy Greenhalgh Jr., master of the Blue Ridge Hunt. “There is a stream running through the finish line. Most of the course is fine, but the critical part is not.”
