The Town of Washington once again will host the annual Fourth of July celebration. The usual festive display - including colonial men and women, Arab horses, musicians, a pig roast, and antique autos - will decorate the town.
Roger Roach, president of the Washington Fire and Rescue Squad and organizer of the Independence Day celebration, reports that a big day is planned. The agenda looks like this:
A patriotic pageant put on by Sam O’Connor will provide a touch of colonial flavor throughout the day. In all, three bands will perform, two bluegrass and one described as oldtime. The latter will perform at the Farmers Market.
