Youth Programs

rive programs have been scheduled for the month of July as part of Lord Fairfax’s Summer Youth Enrichment Program. The programs are Creative Writing for Young People, Introduction to Basic Programming, Phun With Physics, Shenandoah Valley Geology and Word Processing for Beginners.
Creative Writing for Young People is scheduled for July 8-19 from noon until 2 p.m. daily Monday through Fridays. The fee for the course is $45 .
Introduction to Basic Programming will run from July 22 through August 2. The morning session, 9 a.m. to noon is for grades 5 through 8; while the afternoon session, 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. is for grades 9 through 12. The fee for either session is $60.
Phun With Physics includes a series of amazing and edifying demonstrations of physical phenomena such as motion, waves, heat, sound, light, electricity and magnetism. The program is scheduled from 11 a. m to noon for grades 5 through 8 and from 1 to 2 p.m. for grades 9 through 12 on July 22 through July 31. The fee is $27.
The fee for Shenandoah Valley Geology is $32.50 which includes lunch. The program is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, July 13 and 14 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. for grades 7 through 12.
Word Processing for Beginners is scheduled for July 8-19 from 2 to 4:30 p.m. daily, Monday through Friday for grades 9 through 12. The fee for the course is $60.
