Although Rappahannock teachers have participated in exchange programs in the past, it has been a number of years since the last exchange. “It is a
marvelous opportunity for him (Currie) and for us,” said Superintendent Robert Estabrook. ‘The industrial arts teacher from England appears to be an outstanding teacher. ”
Currie said that Wetton has been trying to find a newspaper job for Lisa in England. “She’s looking forward to it, but her family wasn’t too sure about the idea,” Currie said. “We intend to travel as much as possible and take advantage of the time we’ll have there.”
The other people affected by the exchange, the students, have congratulated Currie, but are still unsure. “I don’t think the students are quite sure what to expect, but they’re accepting the idea,” Currie said. “I have a map showing where I’ll be and where he’s from, but I think that they will be astounded by him.”
