Lee John Updike, son of Glenn and Lynda Updike of Newsoms, has been selected as a member of The Society of Distinguished American High School Students. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Updike of Washington.
Updike was selected for membership based on academic excellence, his leadership in extra-curricular activities and his participation in civic affairs. He was chosen to represent Southampton Academy for 1985 after he was nominated by his school sponsor.
