The exhibit of the day was entitled “Surviving the Drought of ’86.” The best vegetables and fruits grown by members were displayed. Numerous ribbons were awarded.
A second class was a small arrangement of three herbs, not to exceed 8 inches in all directions. Winners of this class were: blue, Mrs. Roy Reeve; red, Mrs. Jack Brown; yellow, Mrs. Hugh Exton and white, Mrs. Maurice Herndon. ’
The September meeting, will be a tour of The Lewis-Ginter Botanical Garden, Bloomendoal Farm, Richmond, Va.
