Community celebration
You are invited to a community celebration honoring Mary M. Quaintance on Saturday, September 13 at 7:30 p.m. at the Rappahannock County Elementary School. Desserts and beverages will be served. Aerobic dance class
An eight week series of aerobic dance classes will begin September 9 through October 31, afternoon classes will be at the Flint Hill fire hall Wednesdays and Fridays at 4 p.m. Evening classes will be at Rappahannock County Elementary School Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6 p.m. Class fee is $35 for twice a week, $45 for unlimited attendance. Angelic Voices in concert
.The Angelic Voices Choir will perform at the Front Royal United Methodist Church on September 14 at 7 p.m. A free will offering will be taken for the benefit of the Warren County Senior Center Meals Fund. This event is sponsored by the Outreach Committees of the Calvary Episcopal and the Front Royal United Methodist Churches.
Ruritans to meet
The Amissville Ruritan Club will meet on Wednesday, September 17 at 7:30 p.m. at the Amissville Baptist Church. All members are urged to attend.
Crab feast
A crab feast will be held on Saturday, September 13 from 5-8 p.m. at Culpeper Agricultural Enterprises on Route 29, south of Culpeper. Advance tickets are $10 for adults and $5 per child 12 and under. Tickets at the door will be $12.
Burke reunion planned
The family of the late Josh M. and Ada Fincham Burke will hold their annual reunion on September 21 at the VFW hall in Luray. Relatives and friends are welcome. Everyone is asked to bring their lunch and come join in the fun. There will be a special guest from the Grand Ole Opera, who will join in the fun, too.
Literary series at library
Dr. Suzanne Jones will discuss Edith Wharton’s The Age of Innocence on Monday, September 15 at 7:30 p.m. in the Rappahannock County Library on Gay Street. This second in a series of lecture/discussions on novels of the twenties is funded in part by a grant from the Virginia Foundation for the Humanities and Public Policy and is free and open to the public.
Dance classes at CCLC
Dance classes will be held at The Child Care and Learning Center September 18 through November 6. Times scheduled are 3:45-4:15 (ages 3-5), 4:30-5:30 (school age) and 5:30-6:30 (ages 10 & up). Betty Kerr is the instructor. Cost is $24 for pre-schoolers and $32 for school age children. For more information call the Center at 675-3237.
Garden Club sponsors trip
On Wednesday, September 17th the Rappahannock County Garden Club will sponsor a day-long trip to the recently-opened Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden at Bloemendal Farm in Richmond. The RCGC group will have a special lecture and escorted tour of the Garden. There are a number of extra seats on the bus and the Club invites any interested persons to join us that day.
